Two Christian women, a mother and a daughter, were forced to flee their home because of their faith. When the daughter came to faith in Christ, her father became furious and began to abuse her over a period of time, such that she had to seek treatment in hospital.

She and her mother escaped from the hospital and rented a small flat on their own. However, family members warned the pair that the father had discovered their new location and was planning to kill them. As a result, both mother and daughter fled to a country in the Arabian Peninsula with only the clothes there were wearing.

Pray for this mother and daughter to experience the peace of Christ as they start over in their new country. Pray that God will strengthen and enable them to adapt to their new surroundings and they will remain firm in their faith. Pray that their needs will be divinely provided for and they will lack no good thing (Ps 34:10).

Pray that their family members, who do not yet know Jesus, will come to receive salvation.

#Persecuted Church

On 30th January, two pastors were leaving All Saints’ Church in Peshawar, Pakistan, together after the worship service when their car was ambushed by gunmen riding a motorcycle. Pastor William was fatally shot whilst Pastor Patrick had to be rushed to the hospital for treatment.

The late Pastor William was a senior lay leader who led worship at 3 different Church of Pakistan parishes. Pastor Patrick, who miraculously survived the attack, serves as priest of All Saints’ Church. In September 2013, this same church was the site of a suicide bombing attack that left more than 80 Christians dead.

Pastor William’s daughter who lost her husband in the 2013 attack on the church said, “I praise God and am so proud that I am the daughter of a martyr and the wife of a martyr too.”

Pray for Pastor William’s family and his congregants as they mourn their loss. May the Lord comfort them with His reassuring presence.

Pray that this incident will not be a setback to the church’s ministry in this area but instead the gospel message will continue to spread and the number of disciples will multiply greatly in Pakistan (Acts 6:7).

#Persecuted Church

Since early January 2022, there have been at least 10 reported incidents of Christian persecution in 5 different locations across the State of Chhattisgarh and more than 200 incidents during the past 2 years.

On 9th January 2022, members of a house church in Odagoan were attacked by a mob. According to Pastor Hemanth, the violence started when a thug entered the worship service and beat up those who were present. This thug then dragged Pastor Hemanth out of the building where a mob of about 200 had gathered. The abuse continued as the mob joined in the attack against the pastor and another believer, causing them serious internal injuries that required medical treatment.

The mob also threatened to kill the Christians if they continued to hold prayer services in the community.  And the next day, Christians in the village were forced to renounce their faith. Following this incident, 5 Christian families have fled the village.

Pray that the people injured in the attack will experience both physical and emotional healing. Pray for wisdom and guidance for Pastor Hemanth and the church as they seek to continue the work of the Lord in this area.

Pray for those families who have been forced to flee their homes – that God will provide for their needs, watch over them and protect them. Pray that God will sustain and strength every one of these persecuted brethren and fill them with a renewed sense of courage and hope. May they overcome their challenges and may their personal testimonies of God’s goodness and providence inspire many others, including those who have been persecuting them, to seek God and receive salvation.
